Favourites from the past 3 months

Sp, I'm back with my favourites of the past few months. I know it's late, but I wanted to do it anyway. So, without further ado...

July
It's still really hot in Chennai in July & my oily skin wasn't helping matters. But here are the products that helped me cope.

Himalaya Neem Face Pack - I was not too overjoyed when I first used this as it didn't help me with my acne issues. But this year, it miraculously started working on pimples! This reduced pimples and stopped emerging ones from fully forming. LOVE it! I've reviewed it here (although I might have to redo it soon).
Ponds White Beauty Spotless White Lightening Cream - I didn't like this the first time I tried it as it made me sweat, but I'm glad I continued to use it. Shows that first impressions aren't always correct. This works well for oily skin, didn't irritate or break me out, mattefies well & has some sun protection.
Aroma Magic Honey Lotion - This is a repurchase. I actually bought it coz I needed a lotion to take with me to work for my dry hands, but I ended up using it everywhere else as well. I used this on my face for months on end & on my body too. It's a lovely soothing lotion that moisturizes nicely. Read my review here.
Nivea Sunscreen SPF 30 - I have been desperately searching for a body sunscreen for the past few years & I thought my search had ended with this sunscreen (it hasn't). I used this regularly this summer & was pleased with it for a while. But recently, I realised that it was oxidising & actually staining my clothes & it didn't stop me from tanning even though I'm in the sun for 1/2 hour max. I included it in July faves because I loved using it that month even though I don't any more.
Pantene Lively Clean Shampoo - I used this all through summer as I wanted my hair to feel really clean in the humid summer. It definitely requires a conditioner after it, but it will rid your hair of all dirt & buildup.
Nail Polish - I like these sort of nail colour a lot more than the traditional red, pink, brown ones! And surprisingly, I got a lot of positive comments from my co-workers. I did a fair bit of nail art & I'll post photos of those some other time.

August
I tested out a lot of sunscreens this year & changed routine a bit as my skin was suddenly a lot more acne prone.
Dove Gentle Exfoliating Facial Foam - This has now been discontinued, but I always wanted to try it out. I ended up searching for it in 2-3 shops after the new range of face washes was released. It does not exfoliate half as well as the Himalaya one that I've tried & it's almost as gentle as the Himalaya Neem Face wash, but it smells fresh & light & does a decent job of cleaning.
Sunsilk Conditioner in Gold - Can't be bothered to find the name of this one. This is my favourite conditioner (after the discontinued Himalaya Protein one). It makes my hair feel really silky & smooth. And I need to use only a tiny amount. LOVE IT.
Dove Fresh Moisture Body Wash - Love this one. I've used this for ages & it's a simple, basic body wash. It has a nice fresh cucumber smell that's lovely in summer. It's a bit hard to wash off, but a great basic body wash.
Lacto Calamine - You'll be shocked to read this, but I had never used the lacto calamine lotion before. I had seen it in my parents' medicine cabinet & knew they used it for itchy skin, but that bottle looked so ick & the lotion looked runny & disgusting (it was past the expiry date) & that totally put me off this lotion. I did buy the lotion for dry skin a couple of years ago, but obviously that didn't wok for me. I bought a small bottle of this a few months ago & FINALLY realised why women love it so much. It worked like magic on pimples. So, obviously, its in my favourites.
Nivea Lip Balms - I'd been using Maybelline Lip balms for months & got bored of it. Then I realised that I had PLENTY of these lovely nivea ones. All of these are tinted & most have some measure of SPF. They're very moisturising even though they don't last long on my lips. LOVE these.

September
The weather was still surprisingly hot & very humid this September & I stuck to my boring routine.
Palmolive Thermal Spa - This is the most amazing exfoliating body wash. It's moisturising & not drying, but scrubs well at the same time. And it smells AMAZING! All those wonderful reviews are true. I won't say more - just get it now. It's perfect for cooler weather.
Parachute Advanced lotion for dry skin - This is a lovely lotion for the pre-monsoon, post-summer days & I used it all September. It's not too great for dry skin, but those with normal skin may like it for pre-winter. Love the smell. I've reviewed it here.
Lakme Makeup Remover - I don't know if this one is still available since Lakme have a new makeup remover, but I love this. It is quite gentle, but works well for stubborn eye makeup, even though you might have to use it twice for stubborn makeup. This is the only makeup remover I used for more than a year & I will surely repurchase if it's available.
Aroma Magic Hand Lotion - As I mentioned above, I used this on my face as well; actually, in September, I used it only for my face. It's really gentle & doesn't irritate my skin. Will surely repurchase next year.
Biotique Cucumber Toner - Okay, I actually don't like this too much. I will not repurchase it & will not recommend this. I bought this last year on reading reviews & was instantly disappointed. It is too strongly scented & makes my eyes water. It also makes my skin tingle in an unpleasant way. But I wanted to use it up, so I tried it again this Sep. It makes my skin feel smooth & fresh when I used it & that is the only reason why I continue to use it. I will gladly use this up, but won't buy again.
Maybelline Colossal Mascara - Love this. It really makes my lashes look lush & makes me look alive. I have an early morning shift at work every other week, so this is wonderful for that "I'm not sleeping" look. I got this in the waterproof version & it's a massive pain to remove, but I don't mind. Also, the brush is huge for my small eyes, but I will repurchase this.
Maybelline Lip Balm - I got fed up with the glitter in the Nivea Lip Balms & went back to my trusty Maybelline. Very moisturising, beautifully tinted, it lasts till I eat something, so it scores over the nivea ones. I only wish each one had a different scent instead of the same, generic strawberry one.

Now that I'm done with the old favourite posts, I'll be regular with my current faves. So I'll be back with my October faves soon.

love,
Poohkie
